When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

For the "Be Afraid 2007" Halloween Costume contest.
This is my fan art rendition of Reptile from MK: Armageddon (reference here) as my Halloween costume this year. I did not make the pants, the boots, and the black top, but everything else is mine. I constructed the green tabard out of lizard print iridescent green polyester fabric glued to a thick black cotton duck fabric for stability. The gold trim is gold metallic bias tape. The shoulder pads, knee pads, and belt buckle are constructed from a plastic desk mat with layers of fun foam on top. The pieces were all glued in place and spray-painted with gold and silver paint. Most of the costume fastens together with velcro. Which leaves my head. Wrapped in strips of black cotton fabric and tied and tucked in. Same goes for my hands. All that face paint? Also done by me. It was a labor of love. Close-up here. Also, I generally sew my costumes together, but this is my 1st no sew costume! Not a single stitch went into this sucker. I wore this to my friends' Halloween Party and won 1st place in the costume contest. Regrets? No lizard feet and I can't wear those cool reptile contacts because of my eye condition. But that's it. I managed to throw this together in about two weeks, so I'm pretty proud of it. |
